Passport & Visa Info

The following details relate to holders of adult normal passports (requirements for children may be different), if any other type of passport or travel document is held, entry requirements should be checked with the relevant embassy or consulate

Passports

Required, but NOT by the following:
1) Holders of National Identity Cards or passports expired a maximum of 5 years issued to nationals of Andorra (holders of a French passport or identity document `pour Andorran'), Belgium, France, Germany (National Identity Card only), Italy (National Identity Card only), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland & United Kingdom (expired passport, emergency certificate or excursion pass valid up to 60 hours)

Passport Validity: 1) French passports held by nationals of Comoros are valid only if issued after 12 Apr 1976
2) French Laissez-Passer issued to Indochinese refugees by the French Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand before 5 Jan 1976 are not valid

Visas

The following DO NOT require a visa:
1) Nationals of Monaco
2) For stays up to 90 days by:
a) British subjects being `Citizen of the United Kingdom & Colonies' except those holding passports issued in Hong Kong or if holder is subject to control under the Commonwealth Immigration Act
b) Nationals of Andorra, Austria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Rep, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary (max stay 1 month), Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States & Vatican City
3) Refugees originating from Czech Rep, Hungary, Poland & Slovakia

Air Transit

Required by all except:
1) Persons in direct transit by air without leaving the airport (except nationals of Albania, Angola, Bangladesh, Congo Dem Rep, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia & Sri Lanka)

Notes: A transit visa, valid for 3 days including day of arrival, is issued by French Consulates abroad prior to departure to persons in transit for more than 4 hours provided holding a valid documents for France plus onward or return tickets to leave France within 3 days. It is however advisable to obtain such visas prior to arrival

Re-entry Permits

Required by returning alien residents who would normally require an entry visa must hold a `visa de retour'

Special Notes

All visitors must hold onward/return tickets, sufficient funds for length of stay & additional requirements as follows (except nationals of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland Rep, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden & United Kingdom):
a) For tourist visits holding documents showing tour arrangements & hotel reservations
b) For family visits holding a lodging certificate signed by the relative to be visited indicating relationship, occupation, employer & undertaking to provide means of support & certificate of board & lodging issued by the local town hall of the relative's town of residence
