Passport & Visa Info

The following details relate to holders of adult normal passports (requirements for children may be different), if any other type of passport or travel document is held, entry requirements should be checked with the relevant embassy or consulate

Restrictions: 1) Passports issued to nationals of Israel are not recognised. A special permit issued by the Immigration Office in Indonesia is required 2) Passengers, regardless of nationality, who wish to travel to Irian Jaya & Aceh must obtain a special permit after arrival from the State Police Department, Jakarta or the regional police headquarters (normally 2 days are required to issue the permit)

Passports

Required by all

Passport Validity: Passports must be valid 6 months from date of entry

Visas

The following DO NOT require a visa:
1) Nationals of Indonesia holding a valid passport issued by the Republic of Indonesia
2) For tourist visits up to 30 days (not extendable), provided holding onward/return tickets & entry/exit from certain airports & seaports (full list obtainable from Indonesian Embassy), by nationals of: Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Hong Kong (S.A.R. passport holders), Macao (S.A.R. passport holders), Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam

Notes: Nationals of certain countries can obtain a visa on arrival (contact nearest embassy/consulate for information)

Air Transit

Required by all except:
1) Persons continuing their journey to a third country within 8 hours by the same or first aircraft without leaving the airport, provided holding confirmed tickets & documentation for their next destination

Re-entry Permits

Required by returning alien residents to be obtained prior to departure. Residential Cards and cards of Temporary Admission are not acceptable
